Age-Restricted Living Las Vegas in Exclusive 55+ Gated Communities
Las Vegas has long been a premiere destination of America’s over-55 crowd in search of the best place to retire. It has almost year-round sunshine, a low-cost of living and huge range of activities. Unlike other sunny locations, such as California, Las Vegas is comparatively inexpensive. This is largely thanks to the lack of a state income tax and reasonable home prices. Vegas is home to over 60 golf courses as well as the non-stop gambling and entertainment venues, all of which make the city famous. Don’t forget the world-class shopping and eating establishments. Add in the abundant sunny weather and Vegas becomes one of the most attractive living places for any retiree.
Unsurprisingly due to popularity among retirees, the Vegas valley is dotted with numerous age-restricted living communities. They are geared exclusively towards those aged 55 and up. The most popular of these adult living communities include the Sun Cities, with locations in affluent neighborhoods across the valley. These include Sun City Summerlin, Sun City Aliante, and Sun City Anthem.
Sun City Summerlin Planned Community
The largest and oldest of Las Vegas’ Sun City communities is Sun City Summerlin, which boasts almost 8,000 homes, 3 golf courses and other sizable amenities. Its various clubhouses include high-end facilities such as Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool, a spa, a 300-seat theater, tennis courts, miniature golf and fitness centers. Although higher in price, there are many different types of Sun City Summerlin homes for sale, including smaller single-family homes, all the way up to much larger houses. The retirement community’s location in the Summerlin community also offers a host of benefits. Summerlin’s geographic location on top of a hill means residents will get spectacular views of the Las Vegas strip, and also slightly cooler weather during the hottest months. Secondly, the vibrant community of Summerlin is second to none when it comes to nearby shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities.
Sun City Anthem Luxury Living
Sun City Anthem is slightly smaller than the Summerlin adult community, but no less luxurious nor extravagant. Located in Anthem in Henderson and completed in 2008, Sun City Anthem sports modern and advanced facilities that are in excellent condition. Its large 77,000 sq. ft. Anthem Center clubhouse includes all the state-of-the-art amenities that you would expect. These include a dance studio, indoor walking track, computer lab, fitness center, spa, and indoor lap pool. The Anthem master planned community is home to an outstanding 18-hole championship golf course, in addition to a clubhouse with an accompanying pro shop. Finally, the Henderson homes for sale at Sun City Anthem each include a covered porch and patio. This lets residents take in the magnificent views of the surrounding Vegas Valley and to enjoy themselves outdoors.
Siena – Close Knit, Golfing Community
Other age-restricted living communities of note include Siena, located on the far west end of the Valley. It rests just below Summerlin and at the foothills of the charming Red Rock Canyon. Over 2,000 homes are located within the gated community, making it smaller than the Sun Cities but also closer knit. This Italian-themed planned community also features some of the most beautiful gardens, green boulevards and scenic walkways in Las Vegas. The homes vary in size, with floor plans ranging from 1,200 to 3,200 sq ft and generally offering 2-3 bedrooms. Siena also competes well with the other active adult living communities when it comes to amenities. Take advantage of the 18 hole course, large ballroom, fitness center, tennis courts, and heated swimming pool.
